MP Taylor Bachrach to host info session on Dental/Pharmacare initiative this morning in Prince Rupert

Pharmacare and Dental Care are up for discussion at the
Prince Rupert Seniors Centre this morning

The NDP have been celebrating the latest program to come out of the governance arrangement with the Liberal Party, that of the recent announcement of Dental Care and Pharmacare programs for Canadians.

"This is a monumental step and is going to help millions of Canadians who can't currently afford vital medication. For the first time in Canadian history, we're going to see a framework for universal pharmacare passed into law.

Many people in northwest BC struggle to afford diabetes medication and contraception.  For these folks, universal pharmacare is going to make life more affordable and allow them to live healthier lives.”

No one should be forced to skip or go without the medications they need. Bill C-64 is a strong first step, and we will keep pushing until full universal pharmacare coverage is provided across Canada.”  -- Taylor Bachrach last week following progress on the pharmacare initiative

As part of his comments from February 29th the MP observed how the legislation came into being after negotiations that saw the NDP force the Liberal government to deliver on its commitment.

"The Liberals have promised pharmacare for three decades but never delivered, and Conservatives oppose the idea altogether. The fact we were able to win this historic legislation is testament to the many Canadians who raised their voices in support of pharmacare."

This morning, Skeena-Bulkley Valley MP Taylor Bachrach will be taking the topic to the Prince Rupert Seniors Centre for an information session with local residents.

The MP noting that he'll be looking forward to answering questions and receiving feedback from residents of the region towards the twin initiatives.

The session set to start at 11:30 AM to 1 PM.

Service Canada representatives will also be at the Senior's Centre today, they are hosting an info session this hour, with an application clinic to follow until 11:30
