The opening match for Prince Rupert's Middle School entry in the British Columbia Grade 8 Provincials proved to be a highly entertaining showcase.
As the debut game for the Prince Rupert squad went down to the last second of play before the Storm were finally edged out of the win column 54-53, as Dr. Knox School of Kelowna, claimed victory in the first round play in Pitt Meadows.
The Storm is representing the Northwest in the Grade Eight tournament and twitter caught fire late Thursday afternoon as the team took their challengers down to the game ending horn.
The three day tournament continues today, with PRMS set to take on Abbotsford's C & G Howe Middle School with a 10:30 tip off.
You can follow the tournament from the website hosted by Pitt Meadows Secondary school, where the schedule and results can be found.
