Blog Watching, Week Ending April 5, 2015
Now that all the Easter eggs and rabbits have been accounted for around your house, here's a chance to sit back and catch up with some of the top items from the blog over the last seven days.
Not surprisingly, some big news out of the Prince Rupert waterfront captured the most attention this week. With word of the purchase of the Maher Terminal facility (pending Federal approval) by DP World Ports, a Dubai based leader in port operations. Our item from Thursday morning, dominated our most read listings shortly after it's posting after the midnight hour of Wednesday.
Another item that found a large audience was our review of the hiring of Dr. Barb Faggetter as the city's "resident scientist", an announcement that would seem to herald the first of the Legacy Corporation hires for the City.
The news that the Prince Rupert Liquor store has plans for extended hours and enhanced service options generated some wide interest, as did our story on the opening of the iconic Don Cherry's Sports Grill location at the Chances Gaming Centre.
Wrapping up the top five of the week, change comes once again to Northern Savings who have parted ways with their CEO and now will focus on a new direction before seeking a replacement.
However, all of the week's events combined didn't measure up to the interest in the change of ownership for the Container Port, a prospect that may see more expansion ahead for the Fairview operation.
