Wind Warnings issued for North Coast and Haida Gwaii
Strong winds are on the way for Haida Gwaii and the North coast this evening and into Monday with Environment Canada issuing a Wind Warning for both regions for tonight and tomorrow.
The approaching Low Pressure system will approach Haida Gwaii first and then bring Strong Southeast Winds of 90 to 110 kilometres per hour, with the system expected to push onshore later this evening arriving north of Prince Rupert from a westerly direction at 100 km/h.
The system is expected to weaken as it works its way inland into Monday afternoon.
Up to 30 mm of rain are expected to accompany the wind event through the overnight and Monday period.
