David Suzuki's Coastal Connections Session takes place tonight at the Lester Centre at 7 PM |
A journey through June that has taken him to a number of coastal communities to discuss the challenges facing coastal waters and the people that live on the coast.
The Coastal Connections Sessions started in Nanaimo on June 1st and tonight Mr. Suzuki, film maker and Associate professor at the University of Winnipeg Ian Mauro, as well as a few other guests, including those from the North Coast, will take to the stage at the Lester Centre to share some of their work and engage local residents in conversation on the issues of climate change and other concerns.

Following the film, Dr. Suzuki will ear the discussion about the challenges facing the community, calling on his experience and reflections through his years of study and awareness efforts in the province.
You can learn more about tonight's Lester Centre presentation which starts at 7:30 from this link to the event website. Earlier this month, Dr. Suzuki submitted an opinion piece to the weekly newspaper which outlined what he hoped to bring to Prince Rupert as part of the presentation.
Those that can't make it to the Lester Centre session tonight can still share their thoughts on climate change and other issues of the environment, making use of this section of the event website to submit their thoughts.
Following tonight's event, the Coastal Connections Sessions will move over to Haida Gwaii for two sessions on June 11 in Masset and on Friday June 12th in Skidegate.
