4.1 temblor recorded off of Tofino this morning
The recently quite active fault line running along the West Coast of Vancouver Island shuddered a bit in the early morning hours today. The event registering at the USGS offices as a 4.1 magnitude temblor, recorded 221 kilometres off the coast of Tofino.
The quake which had a depth of 10 kilometres was reported at 5:19 this morning.
The seismic event does note seem to have been noticed in any Vancouver Island communities and did not generate any concerns related to tsunami warnings.
The morning temblor is just the latest of a number of similar sized seismic events to travel along that fault line in recent months.
