Council hears concern over lack of speed signs near McKay Street Park

who is asking the City to post more speed limit signs along the streets
leading to the McKay Street Park

Councillor Gurvinder Randhawa brought some attention to concerns from the McKay Street area to Monday night's Prince Rupert City council session, asking for some additional speed signs to be placed in areas around the newly installed playground in the west side neighbourhood.

The Councillor would like to see signs placed along McKay Street and Kootenay Avenue on the approach to the park areas which at the moment offer no indication of the need for reduced speed or the presence of youngsters near the park area.

The Mayor observed that the City's Director of Operations was in Council Chambers on the evening and had taken note of the Councillors comments on the topic.
