Provincial politics and a farewell to a veteran journalist on the North Coast dominated the most popular items from this week of blogging.
In a most fascinating week, the Legislature in Victoria delivered the kind of drama that might even leave the most dedicated fans of political thrillers shaking their head
That as the suspension of two senior officials from the Legislative Chamber set off a chain of events that may yet claim the Speaker and perhaps even spin the province into an election.
Our notes from Friday morning on what little we know of the situation so far found a large audience, with the story continuing to find traction through the weekend.
Earlier in the week many of our readers were making note of the departure of veteran North Coast journalist George Baker, who worked his last shift with Carolina de Ryk at the CBC studios on Third Avenue West this week. Mr. Baker is off to Vancouver and duties with the CBC's early edition program in the Lower Mainland.
A glimpse at the growing importance of the investments of the Metlakatla First Nation was provided to residents of the North Coast this week, with the release of a study that shows the financial and employment impact that the stand alone companies and those which Metlakatla shares in partnership with other stakeholders have on the region.
The first heads up that the Annual festival of Basketball and Community is coming around again came up this week, with the Qualifying Round for the Seniors Division of the All Native Basketball Tournament taking place at the Russell Gamble Gymnasium, the highly anticipated annual event will take place in mid February in Prince Rupert.
And a most mysterious and tragic incident of the early hours of Sunday morning continued to dominate the attention of residents of the Northwest this week, that as the RCMP across the region continued on with a search for the suspects in a fatal hit and run just west of Terrace, with one arrest announced from Haida Gwaii later in the week.
However the top story of the week generating the most interest comes from the very heart of the Province's democratic institution, as BC Politics became just a little bit more chaotic than usual over the mysterious nature of what's going in the Speakers office.
