This years haunting of North Pacific arrives on October 27

What has become an annual event for Port Edward's North Pacific Cannery Historical Site will arrive on Sunday, October 27th when the popular North Coast destination once again hosts the 6th edition of Terror at the Cannery.

The afternoon of haunting and exploration runs from 1 to 4, making for a day that is turned over to ghosts, goblins and other tales from the Crypt, all designed to get young and old alike into the spirit of Halloween.

As it has in the past, this years event features a wide range of eerie games for the family as well as an opportunity for some trick or treating by the youngsters int the newly accessible buildings of the boardwalk.

Hot Dogs and Chili will be available for purchase for those who work up an appetite from their tour of the Cannery Site.

Also to be Open on the 27th will be the Chamber of Chills, a walk through the Company Store hosted by the voice of the Chamber Micheal Gurney,  his soundtrack  has provided for blood curdling surprises over the years and the anticipation is high to see what nightmares of North Pacific may be revealed for 2019. 

Owing to the nature of that display, it is one that is recommended only to those who are eight years or older.

North Pacific's General Manager Ann Leach, notes how the Halloween event offers a chance to celebrate the season just completed for the North Coast attraction while providing one final chance to see the site before the site's annual winter shutdown.

“Terror at the Cannery is our way to celebrate a successful tourism season with the members of our community who provide such enthusiastic support for our region’s heritage site. 

The haunts that lie in store for visitors may jangle some nerves, but our skeleton crew will be extending North Pacific’s traditional hospitality and delicious refreshments to soothe any unsettled spirits.”

Last years event brought out close to 700 ghost hunters, witches, goblins and assorted monsters.

Admission to the event is by donation in cash only and to be fully in the Halloween spirit, those making the journey to Port Edward are invited to come in costume, with prizes to be awarded to the children wearing the most original and exceptional outfits.
