This past Victoria Day weekend was a travel weekend for a number of Prince Rupert sports teams with both the Mens and Ladies Soccer teams and a softball team heading to the Nass Valley and tournaments in Gitwangak.

In the Men's soccer action, the Prince Rupert side advanced as far as the semi-finals before bowing out of the competition, eliminated in a penalty shootout with the home side team.

That tournament host team would eventually win the championship game of the weekend play.

Prince Rupert City Councillor Barry Cunningham channelled his Sports announcer spirits on Tuesday, providing some fulsome game recaps for City Council members.

Noting of the success of the Ladies soccer team from Prince Rupert which took first place in their division, the ladies coming through the backside of the tourney with two games on Sunday.

Mr. Cunningham's review from Gitwangak starts at the one hour fifteen minute mark of the City Council Session
