OK, we jest, the weather patterns for the most part through the year are as you remember, however for this weekend of catching up and exploring some of the new things the skies will for the most part remain sunny.
The disposition of all attending the weekend events we imagine will be much the same.
The five day weekend of celebrating Prince Rupert kicks off today, with guests set to register upon arrival in the city and setting in motion their plans for the days ahead.
The early risers among the local population and those visiting from afar already have taken part in their first event, as the CBC Daybreak team set up shop in front of City Hall this morning, providing for historical looks back, a review of what the weekend will bring and even some background on recent political events in the city.
The CBC Broadcast ran from 6 AM until 8:30 today, with a sample of some of the morning's conversations found through the Daybreak North Twitter feed.

In addition to the broadcast of the province wide program, the Staff at CBC Prince Rupert will also be hosting an Open House from 1 to 1:30.
The Homecoming Celebrations will be heading into full swing this afternoon when the Hospitality Room opens from 2 until 9, Friday, Saturday and Sunday make for the majority of the planned events,.
Day one activities include a Wine and Cheese session planned for Chances Convention Centre on Friday, as well as a pub crawl through the city.
Saturday features Wagon rides through the day departing from the Highliner Inn running from 11 AM to 4 PM
One of two highlight events of the weekend though is the Gala and Banquet.
Sunday delivers a number of events from a Pancake Breakfast to more wagon rides, a golf scramble, Car Rally and Sunday afternoons much anticipated Musical Revue at the Lester Centre of the Arts at 2 PM.
That show a presentation put on by a large group of Prince Rupert's local theatre and musical community will showcase some of the community musicals that have played on the stage at the Lester Centre over the years.
Tickets can be purchased at the Lester Centre or Cook's Jewellers for the Sunday afternoon show.
Monday will see the Hospitality room open for one more session, offering those that are leaving town the chance to drop in and bid farewell until next time.
