The prospect of more port related development found the most interest on the week, as we took note of an upcoming land study by the Metlakatla Development Corporation planned for the south side of Kaien Island
Issues related to Lelu Island returned to the news cycle this week as well, with a letter from Hereditary leaders of the Nine Tribes of Lax Kw'alaams addressed their concerns over a group currently protesting the prospect of an LNG Terminal development on the Island.
An item related to education found some volume reading this week, that after some disappointing financial news arrived for the School District following a recent enrolment audit by the Ministry of Education, with their efforts resulting in a reduction of funding for SD52.
Watson Island remains on the minds of many and our notes related to the continued interest by Colonial Coal in the industrial site attracted a wide audience this week.
And even though the story only came up late on Friday afternoon, our item related to a Friday announcement by the City of it's spraying plans to tackle the invasive plant Japanese knotweed quickly gained a growing number of readers.
However, the top item of the week takes a look at what may be on the horizon for port related development south of the Fairview Container Terminal.
