Two day Planting Party set for late May for Sunken Gardens

Prince Rupert's greenest thumbs will want to keep May 28 and 29 open on their gardening calendars, as those are the days that have been set aside for this years Sunken Gardens planting party.

The annual get together brings Prince Rupert's local gardening community (both experienced and newcomers) together to help put in another year of plants and flowers for one of the regions favourite open spaces.

The call for volunteers has been issued through a Facebook page created for the event, with all ages and gardening abilities welcome for the two days of planting.

Snacks and beverages will be provided for all volunteers, all you need to bring are some sturdy shoes, long pants, work gloves and gardening tools if you have them. Prizes will also be drawn for as the two day party rolls on.

You can get into the dirt on the following days.

Saturday May 28 from 10:30 to 3 PM
Sunday May 29 from 10:30 to 3 PM

The Sunken Gardens are located on Market Square, behind the Prince Rupert Court House.
