The Cemetery Committee is currently seeking new volunteers |
Prince Rupert's Cemetery Committee puts out its annual call for members last week, looking for new members and maybe even some new ideas to help make the city's final resting place an oasis for family members and the community.
There have been a number of changes made to the Fairview Cemetery site which is found just off Scott road on the way to the container port, with many of the new concepts provided by the Committee over the last few years.
The Fairview Cemetery is located just off Scott road on the way to the Fairview Container Terminal |
The group meets for an hour usually on the first Thursday of the month at 1:30 at the cemetery site office, led by chairperson Pastor Jim Whaley the group works with the city to make the cemetery site a welcoming environment for those that are visiting the gravesites of their family members.
You can bring your ideas and lend a hand to the group by contacting Pastor Whaley at 624-4164 or through email at prjfwhaley@yahoo.ca
