This week the students of Biology 11 at the city's secondary school brought in the bounty from the planting of the Grade 9 students of the Schools Greenhouse program, with over 600 organic potatoes collected from the crop that was planted at the school.
The program which provides students with some hands on learning has been a popular addition to the school program.
The first work to develop the greenhouse on the school property started in early 2014, with the first seeds planted a few months later.
Since that time and over the last three and a half years, the project has continued to generate enthusiasm at the school, as well as to offer up the optimum conditions for the horticultural projects to reach their full potential.
This years crop will be destined for the lunch table, to be consumed by students.
