Members of the Gitga'at First Nation that live in Prince Rupert will have an opportunity to hear an update on the status of treaty negotiations this Tuesday, as the Gitga'at Treaty Office hosts an information session at the Gitga'at offices on Third Avenue West.

Part of the evening which starts at 7PM will be focused on an update from the new negotiator related to the advancements of the Agreement in Principle and Incremental Treaty negotiations.

There will also be information provided related to the British Columbia and Canada matters that are in their jurisdiction towards Treaty making.

The meeting is a closed event, available only for those members of the Gitga'at over the age of 16.

The session takes place in the Gitga'at Business Development offices, located at 632 Third Avenue West.

Officials also advise that with a number of other events taking place this week, the Gitga'at research team's Old Town meeting in Prince Rupert will be rescheduled for a later date, the Hartley Day event however remains as per the schedule.
