Mayor Mussallem provides Rupert overview for Ketchikan Chamber of Commerce

Mayor Jack Mussallem brought the blue print of Prince Rupert's potential growth with for a trip to visit the neighbours to the north, delivering an address to the Ketchikan Chamber of Commerce, where he outlined some of the economic development in the region and what may be in the future when it comes to LNG development.

Beyond the short thumbnail sketch of the proposed LNG hopes for the city, the Mayor explained how the growth of the Container Port has revitalized the local economy, also reviewing some of the options for the Watson Island site that he hopes to see develop.

He also took time to provide a bit of background on the current dispute between North Coast communities and the province over cutbacks to the BC Ferry system, putting in his plug for more frequent sailings of the Alaska Marine Highway system to Prince Rupert as well.
