The arrests took place on August 28th when members of the Prince Rupert detachment arrested 34 year old Jeremiah Dylan Pilgrim and 26 year Caitlyn Ashley Nelson after receiving a request to assist the Kitimat detachment on an alleged assault in that community.

The two Kitimat residents have been charged with two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in relation to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
The pair will make their first appearance at the Prince Rupert Court House on September 30th.
Prince Rupert RCMP spokesman Sergeant Jagdev Uppal, noted that the effect of drugs is not limited to the larger urban areas of the province and highlighted the presence of fentanyl in Prince Rupert in the recent past.
Illicit drugs have a profound effect on all communities, including the North Coast and are not just a big city problem. There has been one death earlier this year in Prince Rupert believed to be related to a fentanyl overdose as well as multiple non-fatal overdoses.
