As part of their observance of the month of recognition the British Columbia Government has put the spotlight on the work of Prince Rupert based Social Worker, Olga Radzikh who helps connect families in Prince Rupert, Metlakatla, Lax Kw'alaams and Haida Gwaii with the services they need.
She has been fully engaged on issues of special needs and has helped parents navigate the bureaucracy to find the help that they need.

Through her work she helps them to connect with vital resources like occupational, physical and speech therapy, as well as autism-intervention and infant development programming.
She also encourages families to access community agencies that offer parent support programs and behavioural analysis services.
Her commitment to the community has gained her the accolades of her team leader, Zena Van Rosi who observed how: “She’s a truly devoted team player ... Her community spirit and commitment to bettering the lives of people around her is evident in everything she does.”
The approach that Ms. Radzikh brings to her work is to create a caring and trusting bond with all of her clients, many of them some of the most vulnerable in the community.
For her, the most rewarding part of the job is "when parents come to my office and tell me what a positive impact the connections and supports have made for their child, for themselves as caregivers and for their family as a whole.”
