Space running out for spots in Recreation Department Babysitting Course
While the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre complex remains closed for general public use, there is still some activity taking place inside the front doors on McBride.
Last month we made note of the ongoing summer camp program that is underway and added to the the list of limited participant activities from the city is the Recreation Department's popular Babysitting Course.
The next One Day program offered by the City is set for Friday July 24th from 9 to 5 PM and it offers a range of material to help prepare participants for work as a babysitter,
A post to the Recreation Department Facebook page provides a glimpse towards what they have to offer and what those who take the program will learn from their experience.
As the program makes for a smaller group, it's one of a few options that the City has been able to offer when it comes to summer activities for youth in the community.
It's a timely moment to gain some skills in babysitting, with more and more parents scrambling to find someone to take care of their children during the ongoing period of COVID, which has seen education and daycare options making for changes.
You can learn more about the program from the Recreation Department Facebook page, or by calling them for more info at 250-627-6707.
The deadline to register for the program is July 20th at 4PM
