Acting Superintendent Sandy Jones still has a few changes to make before she hands over the keys to the office to incoming Superintendent Tom Samoil next month, with SD52 announcing a staffing change for École Roosevelt Park Community School.
Last week Ms. Jones announced that Cindy Stevenson will be taking on the role of Vice-Principal at the West side school, Ms. Stevenson joined the School District in 2010 and has held a number of roles during the last ten years.
In her notes, the Acting Superintendent noted that the new VP is working towards completion of her Masters of Education degree from the UBC Department of Modern Languages, a program which has seen her degree work conducted entirely in the French language.
“Cindy has taken on leadership roles from the early stages of her care. As a French Immersion Teacher, she will be an excellent fit at the district’s elementary French immersion school.”

It could make for the last of the staffing changes for Ms. Jones, after filling in at the SD52 office since June, her return visit comes to an end at the end of this month, Mr. Samoil takes on his new duties on August 1st.
