The initiative will include a number of North Coast locals sharing their experiences and research in the area.
The society has plans to host a new speaker each month via zoo, with Each lecture will be free to anyone who wishes to join!
First up for the new year will be Megan Baker from the Khutzeymateen Wilderness Lodge.
As operations manager and guide, Megan has spent the past five years working in the Khutzeymateeen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary, observing and learning about coastal grizzlies.
Ms. Baker will share her observations on a year in the life of a grizzly bear off the coast of Prince Rupert this coming Monday (February 22nd at 7:30)
You can register to join the conversation via the Eventbrite link they have created for the program:

In other notes from the Society, work continues towards development of a facility in Prince Rupert to serve as the home for the North Coast Ecology Society and their program of information sharing on a wide range of themes.
Last November the Society hosted a survey to gauge the interest of the public in the project and to learn more about what residents of the North Coast would like to have included in such a resource for the region.
Contact Chloe Hahn at the Society to learn how you can help make the new attraction for the community a reality, the Society can be reached at info@northcoastecologycentresociety.com
You can follow up on the progress towards that project through their Facebook page and website
