With the 2021 golf season ahead in whatever form will be allowed amidst COVID-19.
The members of Prince Rupert's golfing community have been given an update on the plan ahead for 2021 at the Eight Avenue East course, with members recently getting a heads up on the new rate structure for the year ahead.
The updated news on fees yet to make it to the Golf Course website for casual golfers to take note of towards any increases for their occasional trip down the links this coming spring, summer and fall.
The most recent update on events at the PRGC came earlier this month with a short note on Facebook.
While they collect their fees for 2021, the Golf course is also looking to improve on its financial base outside of the $220,000 it receives from the City by way of the Community Enhancement Grant program and any other support it receives from the municipal government.
The quest to explore funding opportunities for the facility continues, with the Golf Course recently seeking and receiving a letter of support from City Council towards an upcoming application to the Prince Rupert Port Authority's Community Investment Fund.
The Golf Course had success from that grant funding initiative last year, hailing the contributions from the Port towards improvements last August.
The Port funding is just one avenue that the course has taken, having also indicated plans in 2020 to apply to a Northern Development Initiative Trust funding program.
While they prepare for the season ahead, so far they have not relayed any notes on their search for a new Golf Pro, that after Tyler Stene relocated to Vancouver Island last year.
