Prince Rupert Golf Course set to start search for new pro, as Tyler Stene heads for Vancouver island

The Prince Rupert Golf Course
is looking for a new pro with
the departure of Tyler Stene
The members of the Prince Rupert Golf Club have been offering their best wishes to Tyler Stene, that as the pro at the course makes his plans to return to Vancouver Island to pursue opportunities in BC's Golfing paradise.

The popular pro, arrived on the North Coast in January of 2019 and in his time at the Ninth Avenue West facility he delivered on a number of initiatives, including the expansion of a youth program, expanded maintenance oversight on the course, as well as to work hard to keep the Golf Club on track as it came out of the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown period of earlier this year, that after the course suspended its operations in late March.

The 2020 golf season offered no shortage of challenges for Mr. Stene to deal with, beyond the protocols in place for pandemic golfing, this was one of the most severest years for weather that the North Coast has seen, making for reduced revenues for the course and frequent attention towards the maintenance of the facility.

The Club will begin its quest for a new Pro in the New Year, as well as to determine the status of any rate increases for the year ahead. The 2021 season is also one which the Golf Club hopes to see an increasing number of golfers take to the links, as well as to keep up the enthusiasm for the youth program that Mr. Stene brought to the community.

You can review some of the fond farewells from the membership, and add a few of your own if you wish from the Prince Rupert Golf Course Facebook page.
