YPR to see additional flight today as pre holiday volume increases

Things will almost be as they were pre COVID for Prince Rupert Airport for a day today; with Air Canada providing for a second flight to Prince Rupert later this evening, with Flight 8292/8293 to depart the city for Vancouver at 6:05 PM.

The Friday flight will be in addition to the regular single flight of the day which arrives at the Prince Rupert airport at 1:30 PM, with a 3:34 departure for the Lower mainland.

The notice of the additional flight was posted to the YPR website this week.

The second flight of the day comes with increased demand for pre holiday travel requirements, though the volume of returning flights is significantly lower than that found just one year, prior to COVID delivering an extensive impact on the aviation industry in the province.

Air Canada suspended its service to YPR in April returning to local skies in June, though with a reduced schedule of just one flight a day.
