Prince Rupert Firefighters are currently working on some specialized skill sets, that while not frequently called on for use, require extensive training owing to the risk that the rescue work delivers.

The current training is on Confined space rescue work, which puts the firefighters into some tight and dangerous spaces in their work, with a team of firefighters lowering members into the confined space to effect a rescue or respond to any emergency.

The training is part of the ongoing quarterly training program that keeps the local departments' skills sharp and introduces new technology and approaches to their work.

The PRFD outline some of that work with a photo program hosted on their Facebook page here.
