Phone books aplenty this week

Prince Rupert residents will have their pick of two publications when it comes to their research needs on phonebooks, with both the annual CityWest phone book delivery and a Regional version of phone listings and more available in the community.

The CityWest version has begun to make its way to homes across the city, dropped off in mailboxes as the distribution efforts get underway, this years version featuring the photographic work of Nathan Combs.

His submission was chosen earlier this fall as part of the annual CityWest cover competition, which brings out some of the finest photography in the region.

Once you crack the book open past Mr. Combs stunning work, the local version offers up fifteen pages of community information including postal codes and important North Coast numbers.

There are 57 pages of commercial listings in the Yellow Pages, 24 pages of phone related information and three blue pages of government information.

The Prince Rupert residential listings make for fourteen pages of the publication, with the remaining seven pages featuring listings for the surrounding area including Metlakatla, Lax Kw'alaams and Port Edward.

This years cover is called "Dancing Feet" voting on the cover photo took place through August.

Should your residence or business be missed, you can contact CityWest on Third Avenue West to pick up an additional copy.

And while the CityWest phonebook arrives at your door, Customers of Safeway have seen the first glimpse of the the Regional Northwest Directory, which has been placed in the exit area at the local grocery store.

That publication has Yellow Pages for many of the communities along the Highway 16 corridor, as well as White page listings of residential land line users.

The Regional Directory also has a Government listings section and maps of a number of the communities across the region.

If past years hold true, the Regional Directory may also be finding its way to your door in the near future.
