City of Prince Rupert offers guidelines towards Ridley Island Access Road landfill site use

With increased demand and dwindling space, the City of Prince Rupert has decided that the time is here for a tutorial for the community on the strains currently facing the Ridley Island Road landfill site, as well as some guidelines towards what is and isn't allowed for disposal.

In a video presentation provided to the City of Prince Rupert YouTube page today, the City highlights its guidelines towards Hazardous materials, with a particular focus on material consisting of asbestos.

The City also offers up some direction towards a range of household items that should be taken to the Recycling Centre on Kaien Road.

As well as to make note of a number of local commercial stores that will accept specific items.

Towards further information the City is directing residents towards their website.

Included in their review is a handy brochure of the do's and don'ts of landfill access.

The topic of the landfill site has been a frequent theme of discussion for Prince Rupert City Council, which recently approved work for an expansion of the Ridley Island Access road location.

For more notes of interest from the City see our Council Discussion archive here.
