MLA Rice starts the search for constituency assistant

There's no Help Wanted sign in the window yet, but down at the Ocean Centre the Office of North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice is looking for a new hand on board, with a call for applications for the position of Constituency Assistant.

Ms. Rice's most recent assistant, Joey Jacks has moved away from the North Coast and to fill the spot the MLA has posted a Job Skills/Requirements sheet that outlines what may be ahead for the successful applicant.

Among the key themes for the full time position that pays towards 2200 dollars bi-weekly:

Providing assistance and advocacy for constituents in their dealings with the provincial government, either directly or through appropriate referrals.

Supporting the MLA’s work within their communities through community outreach and liaison.
Providing information to constituents about provincial government legislation and policies, including the MLA and government’s position on provincial issues.
Preparing communications materials, including advertising, householders, and mailings by the MLA, newsletters, websites and social media accounts.
Managing the day-to-day operations of the Constituency Office, including correspondence, bookkeeping, information management and other office duties, as required.
Recruiting, training and supervising Constituency Office volunteers and practicum students, as required. Other duties as assigned.

Ms. Rice also notes of her commitment to recruiting and developing employees that are representative of the diversity of the people of British Columbia.
