Residents of the North Coast can learn more about the progress of the BG Groups' Prince Rupert LNG project with a pair of meetings this week.
Sessions that will offer up dinner, along with some background on what is planned for the region.
The two public sessions are scheduled for this evening in Port Edward and tomorrow evening in Prince Rupert, both are designed to provide the latest in updates on the status of the BG Group's plans to develop an LNG terminal on Ridley Island.
BG has made a fair bit of progress on their plans for the development.
The Company recently submitted its project description to the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency and British Columbia Environmental Office.
At the same time they have also forwarded their application for an Export licence for the project to the National Energy Board. Both developments are key benchmarks for the much anticipated project.
To provide more background for residents of the North Coast, the BG Group's project team for the Prince Rupert LNG project will be on hand over the next two evenings to answer questions.
Joining them at the two sessions will be environmental consultants from AECOM and a representative from Spectra Engery pipelines will also be on hand to provide an update on the pipeline aspects of the project.
The Port Edward session takes place tonight at Port Edward Community Centre at 770 Pacific Avenue. The Doors open at 4:30 PM, Dinner is served from 5:30-6:30 PM. With the opportunity to learn more about the project to follow until 8 PM.
Wednesday the scene shifts to Ceremonial Room of the Museum of Northern British Columbia in Prince Rupert, 100 First Avenue West. The same schedule of events as Port Edward's session will be in place, with doors opening at 4:30, dinner at 5:30 and discussion to continue until 8 PM.
