It's quite safe to say that the provincial Emergency Alert System is in working order, with a message related to two missing children from the Peace region of the province making for an emergency message delivered province wide just after the noon hour on Saturday, catching significant attention as it rolled out.
Phones delivered the alert, as did Television and Radio, all featuring a loud oscillating tone to grab immediate attention, followed by the text of the message as seen above.
In this instance to call attention to the abduction of two children and their mother from the Fort St. John area with British Columbians urged to keep watch and to report any sightings of the vehicle in question.
That being a 2004 Olive Green Jeep Cherokee with the BC licence plate of HT184A, BC Mounties advise the public to not approach the suspect Jason Dalrymple or his vehicle but to call the RCMP in your jurisdiction.
The use of the Emergency System has certainly served the purpose of raising notice of the incident in question, with the alert making for a fast rising topic through social media.
