Prince Rupert Fire Rescue Department highlights duties through Emergency Medical Responder training

Now fully trained in Emergency medical response, the Prince Rupert Fire/Rescue Department has made use of its social media stream to highlight some of the additional duties that they can now take on as part of their response to calls for service.

The training program which began over a year ago saw the local firefighters take a range of programs then take exams towards  provincial licensing, providing for the additional skills that they bring to any call for assistance.

As part of last weeks budget presentation, the city's Chief Financial Officer Corrine Bomben outlined plans from the city to hire additional fire fighters for the PRFD, with budget space through taxation to be created by the city for the employ of four relief firefighters.
