Prince Rupert Rotary Club seeks applications for International Youth Exchange Program

A popular International exchange program which in recent years has seen Rupertites travel to some fascinating destinations is once again seeking applicants for this year.

The Prince Rupert Rotary Club which participates in the world wide program is accepting applications for the 2015-16 program  from any student age 15-18 and attending Grades 9 to 11.

Students in Grade Twelve can apply for the program, but they must not have graduated before leaving on their exchange.

Successful candidates will spend up to eleven months on their exchange, attending schools in their host community and living with between 2 and 4 host families during the course of their stay.

During their stay, participants will immerse themselves in the culture and customs of their host nation, explore much of their host region and represent the North Coast to the world.

Some of the destinations that local participants in recent years have headed off to include Brazil, The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

Travellers to Prince Rupert and hosted in this community as part of the exchange have come from France, Spain, Taiwan and Brazil.

You can learn more about the program through the program website.

A look at some of the past participants in the program can be found from the Prince Rupert Rotary home page

You can also learn more about the exchange program and pick up application forms by attending the Information session planned for 7 PM on Thursday, September 25th at the PRBC building, located at 712 Fraser Street.
