Home for a short break, the Prince Rupert Rampage hit the road again tonight as they travel down Highway 16 looking to close the gap for first place in the CIHL west with the Terrace River Kings.
While the Rampage were shut out on their trek to the Cariboo last week, they still remain within striking distance of their regional rivals, with only three points separating the first place Terrace squad from the Rupert boys heading into the 8 PM match up tonight.
Prince Rupert holds a one point lead over both Smithers and Kitimat in the division to this point of the season.
The Rampage will be looking to Josh Cook and Corey Movald to keep their high tempo scoring pace alive, the two members of the Rhinos are currently tied for eleventh place overall in CIHL scoring with 13 points each.
Cook is setting the goal scoring pace with 9 goals and 4 assists, while Movald has collected 6 goals and 7 helpers heading into this first weekend of December.
Tyler Ostrom and Jared Meers are not too far off that pace with Ostrom currently at 11 points on the year, while Meers is nipping at his heels at 10 points through the mid point of the season.
Prince Rupert finally makes it back to the friendly confines of the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre next weekend, with a match up with the Kitimat Ice Demons set for Saturday, December 12 at 7 PM.
The River Kings will also be celebrating some good news this weekend as they prepare to face off agains the Rampage, earlier this week it was announced that Terrace will play host to the Coy Cup this spring, a successful bid which guarantees them a place in the championship series.
