Five teams return to the ice for 2018-19 CIHL Season
The quest for CIHL championship and Coy Cup will get underway in twenty six days, with Five teams, including the Prince Rupert Rampage returning to the ice for the 2018-19 campaign.
The Kitiamt Ice Demons provided the final confirmation for the AA Senior Men's Hockey circuit in late July, an announcement which makes for the same lineup of communities as last year that are preparing to once again offer up some high tempo hockey in the Northwest and Cariboo.
The Rampage, like their four fellow lodge members will be holding tryouts and training camps over the next few weeks as they make ready to ice their respective teams at the end of the month.
In Prince Rupert, the Rampage are hosting a pair of on ice information sessions on September 6 and 13, where those with an interest in the CIHL can meet with the coaches and players to find out more about what the team is looking for when it comes to players for this year and how they might fit in with the plans for the upcoming season.
The 2018 CIHL season gets underway with a pair of road games in Terrace and Kitimat, with the Ice Demons making for the first of the season's competitors at the Jim as part of the Rampage Season opener on October 6th.
Of the sixteen games, eight home dates, eight on the road, much the schedule for the year however will bring two familiar rivals into the mix with six games set with the Kitimat Ice Demons and five with the Terrace River Kings.
The annual trek into the CIHL's version of Death Valley comes up in November with a two day long distance swing into the Cariboo and games with Williams Lake and Quesnel.
Quensel makes an early season trek to the North Coast in October, while the two Cariboo squads will bring the CIHL season to a close in the last weekend of January 2018.
