SD52 launches quest for new Secretary-Treasurer

School District 52 has commenced its search for a new Secretary-Treasurer, with the job posting now featured on the Prince Rupert Board of Education's careers page listings.

The post had been filled recently by an Acting Secretary-Treasurer, Brittney Verissimo, who took on the duties after the departure of Cam McIntyre in early 2023.

Ms. Verissomo was assisted along the way through the last year by a "Helping Secretary Treasurer' Gerry Slykhuis who had been contracted by the Board out of the Fraser Valley.

The job posting from SD52 provides an overview of the community and the School District, as well as the key focus for the position that is to be filled.

The full job posting can be reviewed here

The deadline for applications is April 30th.

Resumes are being directed towards the office of Superintendent of schools, Andrew Samoil.

More notes related to Education themes on the North Coast can be reviewed here.

  1. $175,256 - $194,720?!? Wow
I always thought the school district was hurting for money. Guess not. That’s more than a top level PRPA director, or a senior director at the City. Wonder what the Sofi report this year will say about all the other Board of “Educators” in the city make.

    1. That is a standard salary for a designated CPA in a top finance role. I would argue that it’s actually lower than what you would get in that role working for a private company.
