Coy Cup comes to the Northwest as River Kings rule Senior BC Hockey following championship


It took Triple Overtime to crown a Senior AA Hockey
Champion for 2023-24 with the Terrace River Kings
finally putting away the host Powell River Regals on Saturday

The Coy Cup made a brief stopover in Prince Rupert on the weekend, that owing to some travel challenges for the Terrace River Kings who had just claimed the top prize in BC Senior Men's AA Hockey over the weekend in Powell River.

The River Kings were loading up the much coveted trophy into a team bus for the transit back to Terrace on Sunday, making for a glimpse of the hardware for lucky Rupert fans in the area of the Shuttle Bus terminal.

The River Kings and the Powell River Regals met in the Coy Cup Tournament finale on Saturday night, that after the Regals had battled it out with Williams Lake the night before to make it to the championship match up .

The finale a fine send off to the 2023-24 season with a wild 5-4 victory for the River Kings, the winning marker coming midway in the Third Overtime period off the stick of Carter Shannon.

The Victory marks the First Coy Cup for the River Kings.
