RCMP on Haida Gwaii bid farewell to a reliable partner in law enforcement

Daajing Giids RCMP members
have said farewell to the Crown Victoria

One of the most iconic of images for Police work in the last two decades is being phased out as the Royal Canadian Mounted Police move on from their travels in the Crown Victoria, the Ford Motor Company workhorse for police forces across North America.

On Haida Gwaii the last of the Crown Vics in Daajing Giids was recently retired, that after fourteen years of service in law enforcement on the Islands.

As part of a formal farewell to their patrol car,  the detachment paid tribute to the modern day steed for patrol through their social media stream last month.

There don't appear to be any Crown Victoria's on the streets of Prince Rupert anymore either, with the local detachment having shifted its motor pool to a more modern law enforcement option from Ford.
