MLA's returned to the Legislature this week, that following an extended Spring Break that also included the Easter weekend, the return to the Chamber coming as part of a shortened week of only three sitting days.
The week was a low profile one for North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice, while Skeena MLA Ellis Ross captured most of the Legislature time whether in the Chamber or in committee work.
Stikine MLA Nathan Cullen also had an active week whether in the Chamber or in committee.
The topic of Health Care particularly that in the Northern Health region made for some significant focus for MLA's and journalists this weekend with a number of issues raised in the Chamber over the three days of sittings.
The focus on health care also served to offer up a chance to review some history towards the local issues on the topic as part of that prism.
The week ended with word from Government House in Victoria of the passing of former Lieutenant Governor Iona Campagnolo.
Among the many accomplishments for the long time Prince Rupert resident, her service as BC's first Woman Lieutenant Governor was notable from a lengthy list.

On the week, Ms Rice was not mentioned in the record for the week in the Legislature from April 2-5.
It was low key week for the MLA, with no participation in the Legislature and only a few missives delivered through her social media stream.
There was one announcement relayed through her office of note for Prince Rupert and area residents; that through some additional funding for airport operations at YPR and funding for work on the Metlakatla heliport
The MLA was also mentioned through the week as Prince Rupert's health care concerns continued to make for provincial news.
Ms. Rice currently serves as the Government's Parliamentary Secretary for Rural health.
The MLA is also a member of the Committee on Aboriginal Affairs, as well as the Committee on Parliamentary Reform Ethical Conduct, Standing Orders and Private Bills.
Ms. Rice is also Deputy Chair of the Select Standing Committee on Public Accounts.
The North Coast MLA also addressed a range of themes and relayed a number of government announcements through her Social Media Stream.

For our readers from the Terrace-Kitimat region, Skeena MLA Ellis Ross was mentioned three times in the record for the week in the Legislature from April 2-5, 2024.
Thursday afternoon the Skeena MLA spoke to Bill 12 the Public Health Accountability and Cost Recovery Act as part of Legislature debate (see 14:29 of the video)
In the Thursday morning session Mr. Ross had raised concerns over the Clean BC program speaking to the issue in the morning debate period (see 11:12 of the video)
The Wednesday session saw the Skeena MLA provide for an extensive overview of the government's Land Title amendment proposals.
Mr. Ross serves as the BC United critic on LNG and Energy
The MLA did however speak in committee sessions this week; participating in a discussion on fish farms as part of the Agriculture estimates committee work on Tuesday (16:57 PM)
The Skeena MLA also addressed a range of themes featured as part of the MLA's social media work.

For our readers from the Bulkley Valley area, Stikine MLA Nathan Cullen was mentioned once in the record for the week in the Legislature from April 2-5, 2024.
Tuesday afternoon Mr. Cullen was one of the featured speakers on the provincial Public Health and Cost Accountability Act Bill 12 (see video at 15:31 )
Committee Membership for MLA Cullen for the Spring Session at the legislature has yet to be detailed:
The Stikine MLA participated in two Committee Sessions on Thursday afternoon (see start of session) and on Wednesday afternoon (see start of session).
Mr. Cullen serves as the Government's Minister of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship.
