4.7 magnitude earthquake rattles west of Tofino



For the second time in a week, the plates have shifted on the West Coast fault line, this time providing for a 4.7 magnitude earthquake that rumbled along the west coast of Vancouver Island on Sunday morning.

The quake which struck at 10:11 this morning, was centred 124 kilometres West North West of Tofino.

No Tsunami Warning or watch was generated by the seismic event.

No damage or injuries were reported from Sunday mornings event.

Earlier this week, a smaller temblor of 2.8 magnitude struck the same region.
