Drive BC issues Travel Advisory for Highways of the Northwest (Dec 16)

Update: Travel restrictions were lifted by midnight for travel in the Skeena highway district

With weather conditions taking a nasty turn along inland areas of the North Coast, Drive BC issued a string of Travel Advisories on Monday night

Heavy Snowfall was reported in the region and combined with slush and limited visibility had made the  drive between New Aiyansh and Gingolx particularly troublesome.

Other areas of concern for travellers was the stretch of Highway 16 from Agate Creek Bridge to Big Oliver Creek bridge between Terrace and Smithers as well as along Highway 37 in both directions North and South of the Highway 16 junction.

Motorists were advised to use  caution when travelling on the highway in the overnight period.

Further updates on conditions on all of the highways of the Northwest can be found from the Drive BC website or twitter feed.
