While the Earl Mah Aquatic Centre may remain closed at the moment as one of a number of civic measures put in place in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the plans for when the pool will one day return to service continue to evolve.
The latest work to take place will come by way of a Request for Proposals for work on the Tot Pool area of the civic facility.
The Project Overview notes how there are two options for interested bidders to consider, the First just for the Design for the Tot Pool that would include replacement of the fiberglass slide and the spray feature.
Option two expands on the Design process and would include the construction of the new Design, supplying all labour and material for the Tot Pool feature.
An information meeting has been scheduled for proponents for May 21st at 11:30 at the Earl Mah Aquatic Centre.
The timeline of the project would run from the study period of June 23rd, Construction would start on July 30th, with commissioning to take place August 15th.
The Deadline for submission of Bids is 2 PM on May 21st, the proposals are to be submitted to David Geronazzo, the City's Director of Recreation and Community Services.
Further details for the project can be found on the BC Bid website.
