It's a shock at the gas pumps this morning for Prince Rupert and area motorists as the price point at the pump has jumped significantly.
A quick tour of area gas stations on the morning finds us reporting that three of the four gas stations in the city now have posted the per litre price of $1.13.9 on their signage.
That makes for a jump of fourteen cents from just a few days ago when 99.9 was the price per litre.
Prince Rupert motorists had been enjoying the previous benchmark since the Easter weekend, when the price had dropped below a dollar for the first time in many months.
With the overnight jump in pricing we now appear to be making an approach towards the days of the March price points of 1.28 litre.
The three gas stations in the city have all seen a pice jump today |
The Petro Canada at the Industrial Park so far has not made the push upwards, with the price posted set at 1.04.9 as of 8AM today, a mark that was introduced earlier this week.
So far, the Industrial Park Petro-Can is the bargain hunters destination for gas, priced at 1.09 per litre |
For those that may be travelling to Terrace this weekend the news is a little better, according to the GasBuddy website the Terrace pricing for the four of ten stations listed, remains close to the 1 dollar a litre mark.
