VIA RAIL Extends suspension of Skeena Service until August
It's been a while since we've seen a VIA Train coming down the tracks to the Fairview Terminal station, and with news from the national airline this month, that wait will continue through the summer.
Earlier this Month VIA Rail announced that it's Prince Rupert-Prince George- Jasper service, known as the Skeena Run, will remain suspended until August 1st owing to unspecified infrastructure issues.
The first of the train cancellations came earlier this winter as the CN Rail mainline was shut down owing to protests through the Wet'suwet'en area of Northern British Columbia.
The next challenge for VIA came with the COVID-19 pandemic, which has saw much of the nations rail system see significant change including the famous Canadian service between Toronto and Vancouver which remains suspended until November 1, 2020.
