Northern Health opens Resilient Communities Grant opportunities and application process

The ability for communities to respond to adverse situations is the concept for a grant opportunity program from Northern Health that is now underway, with the Health Authority introducing their intake for the Northern Resilient Communities Grant.

Framed in the era of COVID-19 and the challenges that it has brought to communities across the north, the new program is one which Northern Health notes can help address some of the issues and concerns found across the region.

Towards the program, applicants can submit their application towards one time funding for groups and organizations who need assistance in adapting their practices and/or respond to new community health and wellness needs.

The program is designed to support Community organizations or service agencies, Not for Profits, Indigenous Organizations, Schools and PACs, Municipalities or Regional Districts as well as First Nations Bands and Health Centres.

Grants are available towards a maximum of 5,000 dollars with the deadline ongoing until all of the funding has been exhausted

All proposed use of funds Must abide by provincial public health orders, notices and guidance for COVID-19.

If approved the successful applicants will receive their funding within one month of their application.
