All Party Committee on Reforming the Police Act to launch public consultation process in the winter


The provincial review of the Police Act of BC and the potential for some reform to the policies and procedures continues on this fall, with the Special Legislature Committee making plans to expand their consultation process with the public this winter and into the spring of 2021.


The update on the committee's work and the plan ahead for the consultation was outlined in an information statement released this morning.



Among those participating in the Special Committee is Skeena MLA Ellis Ross, the Skeena member recently took part in one of the Committee's virtual sessions, making enquiries of Brenda Butterworth-Carr, the British Columbia Commander for the RCMP, speaking to a  range of police issues of note for the Northwest.

The final report from the committee members is expected to be delivered no later than May 14th of next year.
