The Pop Up Ecology Centre is receiving visitors for one more week starting today at the Northland Terminal |
The final week of the three week run for the initiative which began on July 21st got underway at 10 AM this morning down on the Cow Bay Area waterfront, the program runs through to Sunday when it closes its summer run at 4PM.
In just the first week the Centre had attracted over 1,000 visitors, with the final tally of the summer experience to come next week once they have cleared out of the Northland Terminal location.
As this last week was about to get underway, the organizers of the Pop up Event, offered up their thanks through Social media to a number of partners that helped launch the summer of 2021 program in the community.
Among those key contributors were the Eagle Pointe Lodge, Prince Rupert Port Authority and Kiewit Corporation who all provided sponsorship and infrastructure assistance to help the plan come together.
The list of hours for the week until Sunday can be reviewed below: Wednesday: 10am - 4pmAs part of the summer program the Centre is asking those that have stopped by to take a few moments to fill out a survey on their experience, something that will assist them in working towards their goals of a permanent Centre sometime in the future.
That larger ambition was explored with Prince Rupert City Council back in late June, when Caitlin Birdsall from the North Coast Ecology Centre delivered a presentation to Council to outline how they would like to move forward towards a permanent spot in the community.
You can learn more about their initiative and check out a volume of photos from the last few weeks from their Social Media stream here.
