There will be new leadership guiding Coast Mountain College into the new School year, with the college announcing today that Doctor Laurie Waye will be taking on the role of Interim President for a one year term, her appointment to take effect on September 7th.

The shift in the top office at Coast Mountain College comes following the announcement that current President Justin Kohlman has accepted a position at a college in Alberta.

In their information statement today, Coast Mountain College provided some background to the career of Dr. Waye who has been with the College since 2016 and currently serves in the role of Vice President overseeing the College's Academic and International Departments.

“I am honoured to be selected by the Board to step into this role. Justin leaves big shoes to fill, and I will do my best to move Coast Mountain College’s strategic plan forward through this one-year term,”-- Dr. Laurie Waye, newly announced Interim President of Coast Mountain College

During the upcoming year Dr. Waye will be based at the Terrace campus; as for the Coast Mountain College’s President position, it  will be posted and a robust search for the next top admiinstrator will be conducted to fill the opening.
