Bursary program now available for Lax Kw'alaams and Metlakatla members

A return to post secondary education is just over the horizon for many Northwest students and for those who are members of two area First Nations, a new bursary programs has been announced to help offer some financial support towards their studies.

The new educational support program was introduced today, with the launch of the 2021-22 Coast Tsimshian Enterprises Bursary program, an opportunity for members of the Lax Kw'alaams Band or Metlakatla First nation to access bursaries of 500 dollars each towards post secondary studies.

Eight bursary opportunities are available through the program, with a deadline of September 10, 2021 set for those who may be interested in putting in an application.

The Coast Tsimshian Enterprises (CTE) Bursary Program is administered through the Lax Kw’alaams Business Development and Metlakatla Development Corporation, which provides money for Lax Kw’alaams and Metlakatla members to continue their post-secondary studies.
