One final chance to help Shape the City's Financial Plan and Budget comes tonight with Council Session

Residents of Prince Rupert will have one final opportunity to share their thoughts or raise concerns when it come to the proposed Prince Rupert Budget for 2022.

The opportunity to offer guidance to Council and the City's Financial staff comes with the Special Committee of The Whole Session, set for 7PM tonight. 

As part of the session, Corrine Bomben,  the City's Chief Financial Officer to provide for a few more notes on the budget making, before Council makes one final call for Public Comment.

The First Public Consultation on March 28th generated no public commentary towards the city's plans.

For residents who would prefer to just forward their comments by email the feedback process is as follows for that option.

Those who may want to participate in the budget engagement can gain more background on the city's plans from the City of Prince Rupert website and Rupert Talks Portal

Residents can also take on the role of CFO for a bit, making use of the City's Budget simulator to put their own budget making skills to the test.

Following tonight's Budget Presentation and comment period Council will then provide direction to staff towards how the budget and taxation bylaw will be prepared.  

That period of review will take place from April 19-25m with the Final proposal for Council to consider to be presented at the April 25th Council Session.
